The flat base is the safest choice for those starting; the concave works better with very precise dosing. The added force of the shoulder is not needed: the weight of the tamper, applied vertically, is already more than sufficient.<\/p>\n<h2>Use and maintenance<\/h2>\n<p>After use, clean the base of coffee residue (a damp cloth is enough). The concave base must always be used at the same angle: if the gesture changes, the extraction changes.
